The Manager of a shop in Kirkham Mr. Peterson Essay The Manager of a shop in Kirkham Mr. Peterson (Eclipse) has asked me to produce a presentation for the release of the new console Xbox to run in the shop windows that will display all the new features and games coming for it. Before this idea he used to just put a few posters up displaying the information. To produce this poster the manger used to just design the posters by hand and photocopy them. This is one manual way of designing the poster the new way will look better\professional and will be a lot easier to produce. There are a number of possible methods of solving this problem. I could use an animation but school does not have one of these. I have used a language called visual basic before. This lets me move text and pictures but this is very time consuming and I dont know how to do this. The only quick and simple solution would be to use a presentation package like Microsoft PowerPoint or Lotus Freelance. The manager of Eclipse wants the following to appear in the presentation:   The slide show should attract more attention by different animation effects   Information on the release dates and costs of the products. Reviews of at least 5 games and some hardware reviews. There should be a clear, introductory slide including a picture and information about the Xbox console.   The slide show should be stay the same color through all the slide show to make it look more professional   All text should be easy to read from a distance   The slides should move on every 8 seconds automatically   The slide show should run independent of the user All of these can be done very easily in Microsoft PowerPoint and use from a program such as paint\Paint Shop Pro to customize the pictures. All so I may use internet explorer (web browser) to gather more information and pictures. I will also be using camera\scanner to get picture of the console\games. Analyze I have decided to use Microsoft PowerPoint to solve the problem that he manager of eclipse has set me. This will allow me to solve all of the problems set in the identify section. These include: Getting all the information that the manager know about the Xbox. Going on the internet to find out what other people know about the Xbox. Pictures of the Xbox from the internet, camera and scanner. Sounds already on PowerPoint to give flying in effect and sounds from the internet. Processing I will probably need to change the font size and type of the writing so that it becomes easy to read. Similarly I will need to make sure that the font colour is adjusted so that it stands out against the background. I then decided to keep the same background and font for all of the slides to make it look more professional. So I will make the background and font as interesting and eye-catching. The digital pictures will need processing. Either by using paint shop pro to adjust the colours or the cropping tool in PowerPoint. I will change the look of the image. In PowerPoint I may need to rotate the images. In PowerPoint I will animate the text and the images. I will make a random transition between one slide and the next. The animation effects and the slide transitions will move on after a few seconds. I may need to take the sound clips into a music editor to remove parts of the sounds I dont need. Output. The main output will be a minimum of 7 slides. In order to check if the presentation is OK for the manager of eclipse I will print out the presentation with 6 slides on a piece of paper. Backup/Security Since the majority of the work will be done at school where the work will be saved on the school network. This means that the work will be backed up every night. During a lesson I will save my work regularly-just in case the power fails or if theres a problem with the computer. Once the presentation has been installed, the computer that runs the program is locked away so that no one can alter the programme.

Describe and Evaluate Lifespan changes in Sleep As humans grow from infancy to old age there are major changes in the amount and kind of sleep experienced. Babies sleep a lot more than children and adults also have different sleep patterns and different stages of sleep. They tend to sleep about 16 hours a day. But their sleep is not continuous. By the age of six months a circadian rhythm has become established (one main sleep wake cycle). By the age of give, children have EEG patterns like those of adults but they are still sleeping more and having more REM activity.During childhood, it is not uncommon for children to experience a variety of sleep disorders such as sleep walking and night terrors. During childhood, the need for sleep decrease, but in adolescence, it increases, to about nine of ten hours a night. Circadian rhythms also change so that teenagers feel naturally awake later at night and have more difficulty getting up early (a phase delay). Adult sleep is typically about eight hours a night, with 25% REM sleep. Childhood parasomsineas are rarer in adulthood but there is an increasing frequency of other sleep disorders, such as insomnia and apnoea.With increased age, the pattern of sleep changes; REM sleep decreases to about 20% of total sleep time. Older people also experience a phase advance of circadian rhythms – feeling sleepier early in the evening and waking up earlier. This approach to psychology is called the developmental approach and is important in highlighting the changes across a person’s lifespan. One suggestion as to why babies’ sleep patterns are so different from those of adults is that their sleep is an adaptive mechanism to make their parents life easier – daytime sleep means that parents can get on with their chores which enhances survival.Infants’ greater amount of active/REM sleep may be explained in terms of the relative immaturity of the brain, and is related to the considerable amount of lea rning taking place. The change of sleep patterns in adolescence may be linked to changes in hormone production at this age. These hormones are primarily released at night and therefore sleep patterns are disturbed leading to sleep deprivation. Hormone changes can also explain the upset to the circadian clock, which has been described as a delayed sleep phase syndrome by Crowley et al. ome researchers go as far as saying that schools should begin later to accommodate the poor attention span of adolescents in the early morning (Wolfson and Carskadon). In adults, the common perception is that a good night’s sleep is related to good health. To test this, Kripke et al surveyed over a million adults and found that there in an increased mortality risk associated with too much sleep. However, this was a correlational theory, and therefore does not account for extraneous variables. This means that a casual relationship cannot be established.It could be the sae that underlying illness may lead to increased sleep needs and to increased mortality. Reduced sleep in old age is partly a consequence of physiological changes, but may also be explained in terms of actual problems staying asleep, such as sleep apnoea or medical illnesses. The resulting sleep deficit in old age might explain why older people experience impaired functions, for example, of their alertness. Various treatments can be used to increase sleep at night, including relaxation techniques and melatonin to increase sleepiness.The research in this area shows that sleep patterns vary considerably with age, but these patterns are also influenced by cultural values as well as lifestyle habits (such as consumption of a alcohol, amount of exercise and so on). Quà © es el NOA1 o Aviso 797-C NOA son las siglas en inglà ©s de Notice of Action, lo que puede traducirse como nota o aviso de accià ³n. USCIS envà ­a la carta NOA1 al patrocinador de una visa K-1 o de una tarjeta de residencia a un familiar para notificarle que el Servicio de Inmigracià ³n y Ciudadanà ­a (USCIS, por sus siglas en inglà ©s) ha recibido la peticià ³n y que los formularios està ¡n debidamente firmados y la tarifa ha sido cobrada. Si el beneficiario de la peticià ³n se encuentra fuera de Estados Unidos, USCIS enviarà ¡ la documentacià ³n al Centro Nacional de Visas (NVC, por sus siglas en inglà ©s) quien se comunicarà ¡ con el patrocinador y el beneficiario. Dependiendo de la categorà ­a de la peticià ³n, la demora del Centro Nacional de Visas en contactar con patrocinador y beneficiario puede ser de aà ±os. USCIS puede enviar esta carta para solicitar informacià ³n o documentacià ³n adicional. Si se recibe este tipo de aviso es imprescindible responder dentro del plazo otorgado ya que de otra manera supondrà ­a que USCIS no va a aprobar la peticià ³n.  ¿Quà © pasa si la solicitud no es aprobada? USCIS puede negar una solicitud de residencia permanente para un familiar de ciudadano o de residente permanente o una peticià ³n de visa K-1 para prometido de ciudadano por diversas razones. En algunos casos, es posible apelar ante la Administrative Appeals Office, conocida como AAO por sus siglas en inglà ©s. La carta en la que USCIS rechaza la peticià ³n seà ±ala si esta opcià ³n es posible. Si no cabe esa posibilidad, podrà ­a calificarse para presentar una mocià ³n para reabrir el caso o una mocià ³n para reconsiderar.
